Allergy Elimination through balancing the acupuncture meridians was discovered by Dr. Devi Nambudripad in the 1980s while working with her own food allergies. She and other doctors have experimented and expanded upon this growing technique. It is very effective in relieving food and environmental allergies.


Allergy Elimination or Allergy Deprogramming is an acu-stimulation treatment that provides permanent relief from an allergic reaction. In its simplest form allergy elimination consists of stimulating acupuncture points on the body while the patient holds the allergen in their hand. The word acu-stimulation is used here because it is not necessary to use acupuncture needles to stimulate the acu-points of the body for allergy elimination to work. The practitioner uses Applied Kinesiology, also known as muscle testing, to determine what the patient is allergic to and whether or not the patient has successfully cleared for a particular allergen.


The technique is permanent in most cases, meaning that the allergen will remain cleared after treatment.  However, only one allergen or class of allergens can be cleared at one time. For example, an allergy to dairy products may be cleared in one treatment, but not an allergy to dairy and to wheat. In the hands of a skilled practitioner an allergen can be cleared successfully at least 95% of the time. For severe allergic reactions several clearings may be necessary to completely eliminate all reactivity.


Another aspect of Allergy Elimination is that the patient needs to avoid the allergen after the clearing for up to 25 hours. This gives the body a chance to assimilate the deprogramming successfully. Some allergies can be difficult to avoid, still many of these allergies are successfully cleared.


Applied Kinesiology is one of several feedback systems that may be used to determine what kind of allergies a patient has and their relative severity. Essentially AK can provide all sorts of information about the body and the body can deliver the answers to many health related questions provided the practitioner knows what questions to ask. AK is not without its limitations and errors but at least one study showed a 96% agreement with the standard prick test for determining allergies.
