Robin L. Schiesser, L.Ac., Dipl. OM, is a nationally board-certified and state licensed acupuncturist. She was trained in Oriental Medicine (acupuncture, herbal medicine and complementary modalities) at one of the nation’s leading institutionsEmperor’s College of Traditional Oriental Medicine in Santa Monica, California. She received highest honors when she graduated in 2002 with a masters degree in Oriental Medicine. The program comprised more than 2700 hours of instruction in acupuncture and herbal medicine as well as western medical studies. Her clinical internship included giving acupuncture treatments to patients at UCLA’s Arthur Ashe Health Center, at the Cri Help Addiction Recovery Center and at Emperor's College community-based clinic. She was in private practice in Santa Monica before relocating to Boulder Colorado in April 2006.

In addition to her private practice, Robin also provides acupuncture services to students, staff and faculty at CU Boulder's Wardenburg Health Center.

Whole Foods and Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy in Boulder have invited her to be a featured speaker on acupuncture and various topics related to Oriental Medicine. She has been quoted in Alternative Medicine magazine, and has written about acupuncture for the Colorado Daily Women's Magazine.

Robin uses acupuncture, herbal medicine and nutritional guidance to treat a wide variety of internal health concerns and orthopedic pain conditions, and treats both men and women for fertility and reproductive health issues.

Her approach to patient care incorporates a gentle acupuncture technique partnered with compassion and a strong belief in patient education. In addition to their acupuncture treatment, Robin encourages her patients to make lifestyle choices that support their optimal health, such as practicing t'ai chi, yoga or other meditation and exercise; maintaining healthy nutrition, including vitamin and herbal supplementation when appropriate; and being involved in the community.
